V naslednjih nekaj letih bo za\u017eivela ta ustanova za ovrednotenje na\u0161e edinstvene geolo\u0161ke dedi\u0161\u010dine: samo na italijanskem Krasu je ve\u010d kot 6000 kra\u0161kih dolin in ve\u010d kot 3000 podzemnih votlin (jam, po\u017eiralnikov in drugih zna\u010dilnih geolo\u0161kih pojavov).<\/p>\n

Povpre\u010dno imamo na vsakem kvadratnem kilometru kar 16 kra\u0161kih jam. V Sloveniji pa kra\u0161ki svet zaseda skoraj polovico dr\u017eavnega ozemlja in doslej je bilo zabele\u017eenih ve\u010d kot 8000 kra\u0161kih jam. Kras skriva v sebi o\u010darljive kraje, ki imajo tudi veliko znanstveno in kulturno-zgodovinsko vrednost. Pred vsemi drugimi omenimo kraje, na katerih se podzemna reka Timava<\/strong> nenadoma prika\u017ee \u010dlove\u0161kim o\u010dem, kot so izviri pri \u0160tivanu<\/strong> (San Giovanni di Duino). Reka se tu po ve\u010d kot 40 km skrite poti pod zemljo kon\u010dno izlije v morje. Na slovenski strani so posebno znamenite \u0160kocjanske jame<\/strong> (Grotte di San Canziano) \u2013 \u017ee na seznamu Unescove svetovne dedi\u0161\u010dine \u2013 kjer ista reka ponikne. \u0160e bolj veli\u010dastne so morda Devinske<\/strong> stene v Italiji: bela kra\u0161ka skala se tu nenadoma spu\u0161\u010da v Tr\u017ea\u0161ki<\/strong> zaliv.<\/p>\n

Samo v italijanskem delu prihodnjega geoparka je 57 geolo\u0161kih znamenitosti<\/strong>, to je “krajev ali obmo\u010dij s pomembnimi geolo\u0161kimi zna\u010dilnostmi, ki omogo\u010dajo razumevanje zgodovine Zemlje, njenih kamnin, mineralov, fosilov in pokrajin” . Izmed teh geolo\u0161kih znamenitosti, opredeljenih s strani De\u017eele Furlanije \u2013 Julijske krajine, jih je 11 pomembnih na nacionalni ravni, 7 pa na mednarodni ravni.<\/p>\n

To kamnito ozemlje je navdihovalo pesnike in pridelovalce, ki so ustvarili edinstvene verze, pa tudi izjemna vina, sire, med itd.<\/p>\n

Scipio Slataper je zapisal:<\/p>\n

“Trd in dober je moj Kras.
\nVsaka njegova bilka se je morala prebiti skozi skalo, da je vzniknila,
\nvsak od njegovih cvetov se je napil pripeke, da bi se razprl.
\nZato je njegovo mleko zdravo in njegov med di\u0161e\u010d\u00a0…”<\/p>\n

Obmo\u010dje na\u0161ega “mati\u010dnega krasa<\/strong>” je ozemlje, na katerem so bili geolo\u0161ki kra\u0161ki pojavi prvi\u010d preu\u010devani \u2013 \u0161e v \u010dasu vladanja Avstroogrske monarhije.<\/p>\n

Gre za ozemlja ob\u010din, kjer bo ustanovljen prihodnji geopark: v Sloveniji so to ob\u010dine Diva\u010da, Hrpelje-Kozina, Komen, Miren-Kostanjevica in Se\u017eana, v Italiji pa ob\u010dine Doberdob (Doberd\u00f2 del Lago), Devin Nabre\u017eina (Duino Aurisina), Foljan-Sredipolje (Fogliano-Redipuglia), Tr\u017ei\u010d (Monfalcone), Repentabor (Monrupino), Ronke (Ronchi dei Legionari), Zagrajec (Sagrado), Dolina (San Dorligo della Valle), San Pier d’Isonzo, Sovodnje ob So\u010di (Savogna d\u2019Isonzo), Zgonik (Sgonico) in Trst.<\/p>\n

\u0160tevilne javne ustanove, vklju\u010dno z ob\u010dinami zgoraj omenjenih ozemelj in De\u017eelo Furlanije \u2013 Julijske krajine, si prizadevajo ne le za vzpostavitev \u010dezmejnega Kra\u0161kega geoparka, temve\u010d tudi za njegovo vklju\u010ditev v svetovno mre\u017eo geoparkov, ki jo priznava Unesco.<\/p>\n
